About the role
The Cook is responsible for preparing food in accordance with current applicable federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations, with our established policies and procedures, and as may be directed by the Head Cook and/or Director of Food Services, to assure that quality food service is provided at all times.
Responsibilities
- Prepare a variety of meals in accordance with resident preferences and dietary requirements.
- Follow established recipes and food preparation guidelines to ensure consistency and quality.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations.
- Assist in maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment.
- Work closely with the Head Cook and Director of Food Services to plan menus and coordinate food preparation schedules.
- Handle inventory management and ordering supplies as needed.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 1 year of dietary experience in a hospital, skilled nursing facility or other related medical facility, preferred
- Able to cook a variety of foods in large quantities
- Able to read, write, speak and understand the English language
- Strong customer service skills
