About the Role
This is a part-time, rotating-shift position focused on meal service and kitchen support in a long-term care setting.
Responsibilities
- Serve meals in a timely manner, ensuring they are palatable and visually appealing.
- Set tables, meal trays, and food cards; prepare the dining room for service.
- Serve resident meals in the dining room, private dining areas, and deliver trays to resident rooms/apartments.
- Perform dishwashing and cleaning procedures, ensuring utensils and equipment are ready for the next meal.
- Follow safety regulations and precautions at all times.
- Assist with daily or scheduled cleaning duties according to established policies and procedures.
- Ensure all dietary procedures comply with established policies and sanitary regulations.
- Prepare food in accordance with sanitary regulations and established policies.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
- On-the-job training provided; previous food service experience preferred.
- Experience working in long-term care or with the geriatric population is a plus.
- Strong communication skills and ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Superior customer service skills.
