Responsibilities
- Handle, prepare and serve food in a sanitary manner.
- Set up trays and food service carts accurately and timely.
- Serve and bus trays.
- Pour and cover beverages.
- Assist in preparing, covering and labeling food.
- Aid in the proper care, use and cleaning of kitchen equipment.
- Ensure food service equipment is in and is kept in good working order.
- Work cooperatively with dietary staff and other departments.
- Attend in-service training programs for dietary employees.
- Observe infection control procedures.
- Follow Residents’ Rights policies at all times.
- Adhere to all facility policies & procedures.
- Perform other related duties as directed by the Dietary Manager and/or person of authority.
Qualifications
- Previous food service experience, preferably a long-term care facility.
- Ability to read/write/comprehend in English.
- Ability to communicate both verbally and non-verbally.
- Provide services based on physician orders.
- Works regularly with some information such as medical records or reports, financial reports, information on computer screens or other electronic devices, and records that are restricted to specific persons.
- Must comply with confidentiality policy.
