Dietary Aide - Part-time Evenings

About the role

Facility: GSS MN Inver Grove Ctr, located at 1301 50th St E, Inver Grove Heights, MN 55077. This is a highly rated 46‑bed senior skilled facility providing long‑term care, skilled nursing, and post‑acute rehabilitation services. The position is a part‑time evening Dietary Aide / Food Service Assistant, 20 hours per week (4:00 PM‑7:30 PM) with every‑other‑weekend rotation and a $1.25/hour shift premium for hours worked after 6:00 PM.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and record proper temperature of food.
• Set up and maintain a clean and sanitized serving area.
• Prepare and serve food items.
• Restock food areas.
• Clean and sanitize equipment.
• Receive payment for food and beverages using a computerized register.
• Comply with Hazardous Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) guidelines for food service.
• Provide outstanding customer service and effectively communicate with patrons and co‑workers.
• Demonstrate ability to establish effective working relationships.
• Maintain quality control standards.
• Operate equipment such as grills, beverage machines, toasters, ice cream dispensers, cash registers, computerized cash registers, steam equipment, dishwashers, telephones, refrigerators and freezers.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 16 years of age.
• Previous customer service experience, retail counting and reconciliation of money, and knowledge of food service preferred.
• Ability to read, write and follow oral and written directions.
• Ability to perform basic math.
• On‑the‑job training will be provided.
• Depending on location, ServSafe may be required within a designated time frame.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) may be required depending on location.

Pay

Salary range: $19.09 – $23.75 per hour. $1.25/hour shift premium for hours worked after 6:00 PM.

Schedule

Shift: Evening, 4:00 PM – 7:30 PM. Weekly hours: 20.00 hours (part‑time). Every other weekend rotation.
