Dietary Aide Part-Time

Essential Duties

• Learn and perform food service routines within a short period of time
• Set up and prepare meal trays
• Strip returned trays and wash dishes
• Assist with serving meals to residents
• Operate the dishwashing machine
• Check and record chlorine concentration and water temperature of the dishwasher at the beginning of each shift
• Monitor water temperatures during dishwashing cycles
• Prepare nourishments and snacks
• Sweep and mop kitchen and dietary areas
• Clean work surfaces, refrigerators, and equipment
• Check that the kitchen is clean and sanitary at all times
• Carry out trash and garbage
• Put groceries away in a safe, orderly, and sanitary manner
• Leave the kitchen clean and sanitary at the end of each shift
• Absorb and respond to questions from managers and employees
• Absorb and respond to questions from employees
• Absorb and respond to questions from residents
• Absorb and respond to questions from family members
• Absorb and respond to questions from visitors
• Assist the Cook or Dietary Supervisor as needed
• Participate in orientation and ongoing training of dietary staff
• Work cooperatively and harmoniously with staff in all departments

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must obtain and maintain a valid Food Handler’s Certificate
