About the role
Under the direct supervision of the Food & Nutrition Services Director, Supervisor, or Lead, the Diet Aide performs a variety of patient food service and dish duties at Northern Nevada Medical Hospital in Reno.
Responsibilities
- Prepares all food items and patient meal trays accurately based on diet order, approved recipes, and patient meal tickets.
- Uses proper techniques to ensure food safety, including but not limited to: hand hygiene, glove use, temperature monitoring/control, cleaning, and sanitizing.
- Follows procedures for stocking trayline, prep areas, and nourishment rooms.
- Utilizes proper delivery and pickup procedures, including patient identification, isolation techniques, and dishroom procedures.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent, preferred.
- ServSafe Certification preferred.
- Foodservice experience or equivalent nutrition experience preferred.
