Dietary Aide - Full Time - Yuma Veterans Home

Job Summary

The Dietary Aide works under the supervision of the Culinary Manager. Responsibilities include food preparation, production control, inventory control, kitchen safety, sanitation, equipment use and cleaning/sanitizing, food safety, recipe adherence, therapeutic diets, and modified textured foods and liquids. The role also involves maintaining a clean and safe work area and assisting dietary cooks as necessary. Duties also include all general sanitation and cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, washing dishes, and taking out trash.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Minimum two (2) years of experience in customer service
• Minimum one (1) year of food service experience
• Ability to speak, read, and write English to communicate effectively with others
• Able to work weekends and holidays with flexible hours
• Background in safety and sanitation compliance
• Able to work independently and in a team environment
• Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time
• Local to Yuma, AZ and surrounding areas

Preferred Qualification

• Current ServSafe® certification or Food Handler certification
• Experience working in long term care environment
