Dietary Aide - Full-time Days 6:00 am to 2:30 pm Tuesday - Saturday

About the role

The Dietary Aide delivers quality meals, snacks, and refreshments to patients in the Recovery Care Center. This may include leaving the facility to obtain meals, groceries, or supplies from any of our contracted vendors (including restaurants). The Dietary Aide will also be responsible for cleaning and stocking kitchen areas and assisting the immediate supervisor with tasks to support department operations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver patient meals, snacks, and refreshments in accordance with patient’s dietary requirements.
• Apportion and place food servings on plates and trays according to menu.
• Serve trays to patients in a friendly and positive manner.
• Collect trays from patient rooms after patients finish.
• Wash dishes and clean work area.
• Maintain inventory levels and order stock as needed.
• Participate in USPI’s EDGE™ program, which may include data collection or entry.
• Follow HIPAA standards for protecting Protected Health Information.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must obtain ServSafe Certification within one year of hire.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Physical Demands

• Frequently lift objects and patients weighing more than 25 pounds.
• Very active role requiring standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing throughout the day.
• Regularly required to write, talk, and hear.
• Frequent repetitive motion of hands/wrist.
• Work in a clean, well-lighted area.
• May be exposed to unpleasant environmental situations resulting from patient care or activity.
• Direct patient contact with possible exposure to communicable diseases, radiation, and CRT.
