Responsibilities and Duties

  • Assisting the cook/manager, preparation of meals
  • Cleanliness, serving the dining room

Qualifications and Skills

  • Experience helpful but not mandatory

Dietary Aide

  • Portioning and serving of food items
  • Delivering of trays and carts to resident floors
  • Cleaning of dining rooms
  • Working on the tray line
  • Working in the dish room and pot sink
  • Sweeping and mopping
  • Disposal of trash and recyclables
  • Per Diem Duties as outlined by Director of Dietary

Cook

  • Prepares meals, desserts and snacks in accordance with the posted menu schedule
  • Makes sure that all special diets and dietary concerns are followed
  • Serves meals that are palatable and presentable
  • Keeps work area clean, organized, sanitized, may include washing pots and pans, etc.
  • Knows health code requirements for food and beverage storage and hot/cold holding temperatures and maintains documentation
  • Estimates and prepares food supplies to meet serving portions
  • Maintains a safe, clean and respectable work environment
  • Attends and participates in continuing educational programs
