About the role

This opportunity is a per diem position at Wellington Regional Medical Center, a 235-bed acute care hospital located in Wellington, Florida. The hospital has served Palm Beach County since 1986 and is accredited by The Joint Commission.

Responsibilities

• Work various trayline positions under supervision of the Food and Nutrition Management team
• Visit patients for menu selections
• Ensure tray accuracy, diet accuracy, and timeliness of service
• Clean all assigned work areas, including sweeping and mopping floors and refrigerators
• Restock food and non-food supplies in work areas
• May make patient snacks and/or deliver snacks/supplies to patient care units
• Remove garbage and boxes from department per policy and procedure
• Record temperatures of food, freezers, and refrigerators daily
• Work in dish room, pots and pans, and trayline as necessary
• May deliver trays to patients as needed
• Sweep and mop floors in serving and dining areas
• May be cross-trained for other positions within the department
• Exhibit excellent customer service skills in all interactions with patients, visitors, physicians, co-workers, hospital, and supervisory staff
• Recognize signs and symptoms of stroke and call a stroke alert overhead; verbalize stroke alert process
• Maintain currency in stroke knowledge by completing annual 1-hour online training

Qualifications

• 1 year hospital food service experience preferred
• Knowledge of healthcare standard diets
• ServSafe certified a plus
