Diet Aide II | Part-Time, Shifts Vary

About the role

Phelps Health is a 2000-employee hospital and healthcare system serving the heart of small-town Missouri. As a Diet Aide 2, you will perform cashiering duties, serve food to cafeteria, grill, and DDCI café customers, stock supplies, and maintain cleanliness and order in food service areas while providing quality service.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a calm demeanor during high-volume or unusual events to uphold operational standards and set a positive example.
• Anticipates customer needs by evaluating the environment and customer cues.
• Delivers legendary customer service with a "customer comes first" attitude.
• Reconciles cashier reports per shift to ensure correct cash balances.
• Keeps food, supplies, and equipment in food service areas clean and sanitized.
• Assists with training by reinforcing successful performance and providing respectful coaching.
• Follows operational policies for cash handling, safety, and security.
• Maintains a clean and organized workspace for efficient operations.
• Provides quality beverages, whole bean, and food products consistently while adhering to health, safety, and sanitation guidelines.

Requirements

• High School graduate or equivalent preferred; ability to read, write, and follow directions.
• Willingness to learn additional tasks and duties.
• No previous experience required; barista experience preferred.
• Mental ability to follow written and verbal instructions and perform simple math tasks.
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods.
• Capability to lift 30 lbs. or more during a shift.

Working Conditions

• May come in contact with patients.
• Exposure to heat, noise, wet floors, steam, water, cleaning chemicals, glass breakage, and sharp knives.
• Must be able to work in a congested area.
