Diesel Technician: Waste & Recycling
About the role
The Maintenance Technician A works under the supervision of a Lead Technician, Fleet Maintenance Supervisor, or Maintenance Manager. This position supports drivers in running their routes and services some of the most technologically advanced vehicles on the road.
Responsibilities
- Maintains advanced knowledge and strong skill proficiency in various vehicle components and systems, performing complex repair and maintenance functions.
- Performs inspections and repairs on chassis components, refuse bodies, air and hydraulic braking systems, engines, heating and air conditioning systems, and aftertreatment systems.
- Diagnoses electrical concerns using scan tools and completes applicable Company training programs.
- Completes line maintenance, welding, and fabrication tasks.
- Identifies and resolves malfunctions using a variety of electronic tools.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned or apparent.
Qualifications
- Ability to diagnose multi-system issues and demonstrate technical expertise.
- 5-7 years of experience as a technician working on heavy-duty trucks.
- Strong background in suspensions, steering, general engine, transmissions, brakes, electrical, hydraulics, drive train, and diesel emissions.
- American Society of Automotive Engineers (ASE) Heavy Truck Certifications (T1-T8) are preferred but not required.
- LNG and/or CNG experience is preferred but not required.
- A Class B or higher Commercial Driver’s License is preferred but not required.

Pay
The pay range for this position is $29.90 to $41.07* based on the minimum wage in multiple jurisdictions. The actual range will depend on the locality in which you are hired.
