About the role
Gordon Truck Centers, Inc. (GTC) is seeking experienced Diesel Technicians for their Albany, OR location. Founded in 1986, GTC operates 19 dealerships serving the Pacific Northwest. They offer a range of services including sales, financing, insurance, and repairs for commercial trucks.
Responsibilities
- Run diagnostic tests and analyze results.
- Repair or replace vehicle engines, steering mechanisms, transmissions, and braking systems.
- Work knowledge of engines, transmissions, differential, A/C and suspensions.
- Determine unit condition by conducting inspections & diagnostic tests, identifying deficiencies.
- Able to read schematics for electrical and air systems.
- Develop technical skills through training opportunities.
- Test equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturers' specifications; make necessary adjustments if required.
- Ensure the cleanliness of the shop.
Requirements
Heavy equipment dealership experience is preferred, but other skill sets are welcome. Strong mechanical aptitude, a team player mentality, and a belief in safety first are essential qualities.
Qualifications
Must have a full complement of tools and be able to lift up to 75 pounds.
Skills
Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing various components of diesel engines and vehicles, including electrical and air systems.
