About the role
Seeking a skilled and motivated Diesel Technician to join our service team. The Diesel Technician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, servicing, and maintaining diesel-powered equipment, tractors, construction equipment, utility vehicles, and related machinery. This position plays a critical role in ensuring our customers' equipment operates safely, efficiently, and with minimal downtime.
The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, customer-focused, and experienced in troubleshooting hydraulic, electrical, diesel engine, and powertrain systems.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and drivetrain components.
- Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled service on tractors, construction equipment, and related machinery.
- Conduct inspections and identify equipment issues accurately and efficiently.
- Utilize diagnostic software, service manuals, and testing equipment to determine root causes of equipment failures.
- Complete warranty repairs in accordance with manufacturer standards.
- Document repair findings, labor hours, parts usage, and service recommendations.
- Perform safety inspections and ensure all work meets company and manufacturer quality standards.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
- Communicate effectively with Service Advisors, Parts Department personnel, and customers regarding repair status and recommendations.
- Participate in ongoing technical training to stay current with equipment technology and manufacturer updates.
- Assist with field service calls as required.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- 2+ years of experience repairing diesel engines and heavy equipment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Working knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and fuel systems.
- Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Valid California driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a physically demanding environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Kubota, construction equipment, agricultural equipment, or compact utility equipment.
- Technical school or diesel technology certification.
- ASE, Kubota, or manufacturer certifications.
- Welding and fabrication experience.
