About the role

Seeking a skilled and motivated Diesel Technician to join our service team. The Diesel Technician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, servicing, and maintaining diesel-powered equipment, tractors, construction equipment, utility vehicles, and related machinery. This position plays a critical role in ensuring our customers' equipment operates safely, efficiently, and with minimal downtime.

The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, customer-focused, and experienced in troubleshooting hydraulic, electrical, diesel engine, and powertrain systems.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and drivetrain components.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled service on tractors, construction equipment, and related machinery.
  • Conduct inspections and identify equipment issues accurately and efficiently.
  • Utilize diagnostic software, service manuals, and testing equipment to determine root causes of equipment failures.
  • Complete warranty repairs in accordance with manufacturer standards.
  • Document repair findings, labor hours, parts usage, and service recommendations.
  • Perform safety inspections and ensure all work meets company and manufacturer quality standards.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
  • Communicate effectively with Service Advisors, Parts Department personnel, and customers regarding repair status and recommendations.
  • Participate in ongoing technical training to stay current with equipment technology and manufacturer updates.
  • Assist with field service calls as required.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 2+ years of experience repairing diesel engines and heavy equipment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Working knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and fuel systems.
  • Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
  • Valid California driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a physically demanding environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Kubota, construction equipment, agricultural equipment, or compact utility equipment.
  • Technical school or diesel technology certification.
  • ASE, Kubota, or manufacturer certifications.
  • Welding and fabrication experience.
