Pay

Hourly pay: $35.75 per hour.

  • $100 certification bonus for each new ASE certification obtained (up to $700 total).
  • Quarterly bonus: up to $500 every quarter (four times per year).

Schedule

Monday–Friday, weekends off. Second shift: 3:30 pm – 12:00 am.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Vocational or technical certification, or post-secondary degree, preferred.
  • Basic tools required.
  • Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including:
    • Routine preventative maintenance (e.g., oil changes, brake and tire work).
    • Two (2) years or more of combined classroom training and work experience preferred.
  • Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A preferred.
  • Must be able to obtain CDL within 6 months after hire.
  • Must pass:
    • Ryder drug test.
    • DOT physical.
    • Ryder road test.
    • Ryder background and motor vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years.

Note: Some positions require additional screening, such as employment and education verification, motor vehicle records check, and customer-specific badging or background requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties, including:
    • Standard vehicle maintenance.
    • Standard component inspections and repairs.
    • Preventive maintenance.
  • Diagnoses standard mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computers as applicable.
  • Identifies root cause of basic failures/conditions and performs repairs as required.
  • Replaces defective components as instructed.
  • Performs facility maintenance duties.
  • Interacts with customers/drivers to determine the nature of complaints.
  • Utilizes key functions of Shop Management System and electronic documentation.
  • Works in accordance with all federal, provincial, and corporate compliance guidelines (e.g., safety, DOT, MOT).
  • Performs other support duties as required, such as Service Island support.
