Pay

Hourly Pay: $28.00 per hour

  • $100 certification bonus for each new ASE certification obtained, up to $700
  • Quarterly bonus up to $500, paid four times per year

Schedule

Second Shift: 1:30 pm – 10:00 pm, Monday–Friday with weekends off.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
  • Vocational or technical certification (preferred)
  • Post-secondary degree or technical certifications (preferred)
  • Basic tools (required)
  • Two or more years of combined classroom training and work experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including routine preventative maintenance such as oil changes, brake, and tire work (preferred)
  • Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A (preferred)
  • Must be able to obtain CDL within 6 months after hire
  • Must pass a Ryder drug test, DOT physical, Ryder road test, and background/motor vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years

Responsibilities

  • Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties, including standard vehicle maintenance, component inspections, and repairs
  • Performs preventive maintenance and diagnoses standard mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic tools
  • Identifies root causes of basic failures and performs repairs as required
  • Replaces defective components as instructed
  • Performs facility maintenance duties
  • Interacts with customers/drivers to determine the nature of complaints
  • Utilizes Shop Management System and electronic documentation
  • Works in accordance with all federal, provincial, and corporate compliance guidelines (e.g., safety, DOT, MOT)
  • Performs other support duties as required, such as Service Island support
