About the role

Ed Morse Automotive Group, with 80+ years of industry experience and over 60 locations across FL, TX, OK, MO, MT, IL, IA, CO, and AZ, is seeking a Diesel Technician to join our family-oriented team. We represent 40+ automotive, powersports, and motorcycle brands and value personal and professional growth.

Responsibilities

  • Perform work specified on maintenance and repair orders efficiently and in accordance with dealership standards.
  • Diagnose and repair vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, braking, and air conditioning to specification.
  • Provide labor and time estimates for additional automotive repairs.
  • Explain mechanical diagnoses and required repairs in a non-technical manner to service advisors and customers.
  • Continuously learn new technical information and techniques through formal training sessions to stay current with rapidly changing technology.
  • Inspect and test new vehicles and record findings to ensure necessary repairs are made.
  • Demonstrate expertise in the latest automotive technologies and persistent problem-solving.

Requirements

  • Specific manufacturer diesel experience is a must.
  • 3 years of technician experience in an automotive repair or parts department.
  • Hold a valid driver’s license.
  • Team-oriented, flexible, and focused on maintaining a high level of customer service.
  • Working knowledge of shop equipment such as wheel and tire equipment, alignment systems, diagnostic equipment, and AC equipment.
  • Willingness to submit to a background check, DMV screen, and drug screen.
