About the role
As a Level One Technician at TravelCenters of America, you will provide accurate, efficient service to customers by troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing heavy-duty trucks and trailers. Our team of nearly 3,000 highly skilled technicians ensures every traveler returns to the road better than they came, working across over 280 locations nationwide.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose wear conditions and, together with TSA or Manager, make recommendations to customers
- Complete repairs within your capabilities and as written
- Understand Truck Service Standard Services and specialized customer programs
- Follow safety guidelines and report potentially unsafe situations caused by team members and/or customers
- Work in a fun, trusting environment focused on exceeding customer expectations
Requirements
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Prior verifiable truck service experience preferred
- Heavy-duty ASE certifications not required but a plus
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and some holidays in interior and exterior conditions
- A valid driver’s license
- Dedicated individual who works well with others and is excited to be part of the team

Pay
$19.00 - 22.80 per hour. The pay range reflects the potential pay for this role and will depend on various factors, such as responsibilities, job duties, relevant experience, and skills.
Physical Demands
- Regularly required to talk and hear
- Occasionally required to stand, walk, kneel, stoop, bend over, crouch, crawl, and climb
- Occasionally required to lift up to 50 lbs and/or move heavy objects
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
Work Environment
- Exposure to outdoor elements in all seasons
- Occasional exposure to fumes, particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration
- Noise level can be loud at times
- Exposure to dirt, dust, grime, grease, oil, gas, and high-concentrated cleaning solutions
