Diesel Specialist

About the Role

Responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines and related systems in vehicles and machinery. Perform routine inspections, troubleshoot mechanical issues, replace faulty parts, and ensure engines operate efficiently and meet safety standards. This role requires knowledge of diesel engine technology, strong mechanical skills, and the ability to work with diagnostic tools and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Repair and Maintain Mobile Equipment: Service, repair, adjust, and test all mobile equipment to maximize performance and limit downtime.
• Inspect Equipment and Materials: Identify and troubleshoot the cause of errors in mobile equipment and perform necessary repairs.
• Handle and Move Objects: Safely handle, install, position, and move parts, materials, and industrial hand tools throughout the shop and plant.
• Document and Record Information: Complete accurate daily and monthly documentation for all mobile equipment, including service reports in written or electronic form.
• Operate Equipment: Assist in driving heavy equipment and vehicles to ensure efficient production.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Previous experience working on diesel or heavy construction equipment is required.
• Additional vocational/trade school training in a mechanical field is preferred.
• Must be willing to work overtime and extended hours, including outdoors in all weather conditions and exposure to loud noises.
• Ability to perform physical activities such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Travel will be required overnight as business demands.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of general principles and practices of servicing heavy construction equipment.
• Knowledge of industrial tools, their uses, and maintenance.
• Mechanical skills and understanding of mobile equipment, including basic maintenance checks and troubleshooting.
