Diesel Service Technician / Mechanic
About the Role
Murphy-Hoffman Company, LLC (MHC), North America’s largest Kenworth truck dealership and leasing group, is seeking a Diesel Service Technician / Mechanic to join our team. This role involves performing heavy-duty mechanical repairs under general supervision, with on-the-job training provided to achieve Service Journeyman status.
Responsibilities
- Performs general mechanical duties, including engine overhaul, fuel systems, electrical systems, transmissions, cooling systems, chassis, brakes, engine tune-up, and general maintenance.
- Works on major components with close supervision.
- Troubleshoots minor problems.
- Attends training sessions and meetings.
- Maintains a neat and orderly working area and properly handles company tools.
- Advises the Shop Foreman if additional repair work is necessary.
- Follows safe work practices, uses safety equipment, and seeks assistance when needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications
- CDL preferred.
- Minimum three years of hands-on experience or graduate of vocational courses.
- A/C, Brake, and DOT Annual Inspector Certifications required.
- Possession of necessary tools to perform position responsibilities.
