About the role
Xylem is looking for a Diesel Service Center Technician to service diesel pumps and their corresponding electrical and mechanical components at our service center in Wilmington, NC. Equipment-specific training will be provided, but applicants with previous experience working with diesel, mechanical, and electrical equipment are especially encouraged to apply. This position has general day shift hours Monday-Friday with overtime opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of diesel pumps and related electrical and mechanical components
- Diagnose basic and complex mechanical and electrical issues
- Adhere to safety practices and procedures
- Communicate effectively with customers, co-workers, and managers both verbally and in writing
- Work independently with little or no supervision; self-motivated and self-directed
Requirements
- High school Diploma or GED
- Valid driver’s license with good driving record (Class B CDL preferred)
- Ability to pass a background check, drug screen, MVR check, and DOT physical
- Experience working with diesel systems, or a combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position
- General diesel engine component location and identification
- Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to diagnose basic mechanical problems
- General DC electric and circuit testing skills

Pay
The estimated salary range for this position is $28/hr. - $34/hr. Starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills, experience, and work location, and is not typically at the top of the range.
Schedule
General day shift hours Monday-Friday with overtime opportunities.
