Diesel Service Apprentice / Mechanic
About the role
First stage of training for Service Technician status. Performs light maintenance work under close supervision, including preventive maintenance, pre-delivery inspections, light electrical repairs, and other duties as assigned by a supervisor. Assists Service Technician in heavy-duty truck repair and attends training sessions to gain knowledge and experience. Maintains a neat and orderly work area and properly handles company tools.
This is a safety-sensitive position: any lapse of attention could result in injury, illness, or death, including operating, repairing, maintaining, or monitoring heavy equipment, machinery, or motor vehicles, or handling hazardous materials and/or waste.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance and pre-delivery inspections under supervision
- Conduct light electrical repairs
- Assist Service Technician in heavy-duty truck repair
- Attend training sessions to gain knowledge and experience
- Maintain a neat and orderly work area and properly handle company tools
- Perform other duties as assigned by a supervisor
