Diesel Mechanic Trainee - Fleet Technician Trainee

Position Responsibilities

  • Accurately inspect, repair, and complete routine maintenance of fleet equipment
  • Complete necessary documentation for repairs and maintenance while maintaining accurate records of work performed, parts used, and repairs/inspections completed through the online AssetWorks system
  • Learn and assist diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems using diagnostic tools and technical manuals
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area
  • Replace defective components as instructed
  • Demonstrate ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment and perform tasks in outdoor settings
  • Adhere to all company, local, state, and federal policies and regulations including DOT, OSHA, and Reyes Fleet Management standards, while ensuring compliance with safety programs, correct selection and use of appropriate tools, PPE, machine guarding, and established best safety practices
  • This position may require driving Reyes Family of Businesses, Reyes Fleet Management and customer vehicles, it is regulated by the DOT and requires a current driver qualification file to be maintained as required by the role

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/General Education Degree (GED) or Technical School Certification with 0 to 2 years of related experience
  • You must be at least 18 years old
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable motor vehicle record in compliance with Department of Transportation regulations to operate applicable company vehicles
  • Frequent lifting, pushing, and/or pulling of weights in excess of 50 pounds, occasional lifting, pushing, and/or pulling of weights in excess of 100 pounds

Qualifications

  • Trade School Diploma or Certification preferred

Skills

  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations and safety practices

Pay

$22.00 - $26.00/hr, depending upon experience and skill level

Schedule

Full-Time, Monday-Thursday noon-8:30pm, Friday 10:00am-6:30pm
