About the role
Inspect, repair, and maintain equipment used to transport and handle freight, including single and tandem axle diesel over-the-road and city tractors, diesel city straight trucks, and propane and diesel-powered industrial forklifts.
Responsibilities
- Track completed and uncompleted work to maintain adequate production and meet service schedules and customer commitments.
- Troubleshoot and perform failure analysis on component parts and systems of trucks, tractors, converter gear, and forklifts.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, or other types of breakdowns or potential failures.
- Perform routine maintenance such as lubrication, cooling system tests, brake adjustments, and tire inflation.
- Repair or rebuild all or part of a system of assigned equipment as needed.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- At least 6 months of related experience and/or training.
- Ability to satisfactorily pass a background check and alcohol and drug test.
Qualifications (Preferred)
- Diesel Engine Repair experience.
- Automotive Diagnostics experience.
- Automotive Service experience.
- ASE Certification.
- Diesel Engine Certification.
Pay
$33.00–$40.45 per hour (pay may vary based on location and experience).
