Diesel Mechanic/Technician (2150)

About the Role

As a Mobile Mechanic/Technician, you'll be the expert our customers rely on to keep their fleets on the road. This field-based role is perfect for skilled technicians who enjoy independence and variety in their work. You'll perform preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on light and medium-duty vehicles, including emergency roadside service when needed. Responsibilities

• Perform onsite preventative maintenance, DOT inspections, and follow-up repairs on light and medium-duty vehicles in a mobile field environment.
• Handle emergency road service calls with confidence and urgency.
• Respond to dispatch requests for scheduled and unscheduled service or maintenance.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, brake, cooling, and air systems.
• Use advanced diagnostic tools, including handheld computers and precision instruments, to identify and fix issues quickly.
• Utilize hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment to complete repairs.
• Road test vehicles to ensure repairs meet top-quality standards.
• Stay productive and efficient, meeting or exceeding industry-standard repair times.
• Work with trusted vendors to source parts and keep operations moving.
• Take ownership of a company-issued service truck, perform maintenance, and conduct pre- and post-trip inspections to ensure safety compliance.
• Support the team wherever needed.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of hands-on auto or diesel tech experience working on light to medium-duty vehicles.
• Strong communication skills to connect with customers and drivers.
• Comfortable using mobile apps, navigation systems, and digital tools for organization and repair documentation.
• Ready to work outdoors in all weather conditions at customer yards.
• Independent, dependable, and self-motivated with a focus on quality work.
• Positive attitude and safety-first mindset.
• Must be 23+ with a clean driving record and a valid driver's license.
• Bring your own hand tools; we'll supply everything else.

Work Environment

Work in dynamic, high-traffic areas where safety and precision are key. Expect exposure to dust, diesel fumes, and noise typical of a shop or yard environment. Safely handle chemicals, oils, and grease as part of repair work. Be ready to lift, move, and position heavy equipment or components. Stay active—you'll bend, kneel, crawl, and crouch to access vehicle components. Work outdoors in all weather conditions.
