About the role
The Diesel Mechanic Program Coordinator will work under minimal instruction/supervision within the guidelines established by the Dean of Manufacturing and Maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Program development
- Teaching courses
- Designing and developing curriculum
- Providing a systematic plan for delivering instruction
- Evaluating student performance
- Advising students and mentoring instructors
- Maintaining program certification/accreditation requirements
- Maintaining all required documentation
- Budgeting requirements and administrative reports
- Assisting with student recruitment, retention, and job placement efforts
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or an associate degree in diesel mechanics or automotive technology or a related field
- ASE master diesel or automobile technician certification (must be submitted with the application)
- Minimum of two (2) years of work experience
- Valid South Carolina Class "A" Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
Preferred Qualifications
- Two (2) years teaching experience in diesel or automotive technology
- Documented industry/teaching experience to include evidence of experience with current technology within the last three (3) years
- Documented automatic transmission experience
- Documented engine management and engine repair expertise
- Excellent computer skills and knowledge of software applications
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
