Essential Responsibilities
- Test vehicle parts and systems for correct operation.
- Identify mechanical problems, often by using diagnostic equipment.
- Follow checklists to ensure all checks are conducted on each vehicle.
- Perform basic to advanced maintenance including but not limited to oil changes, tune ups, transmissions, as well as electronic and air conditioning systems.
- Replace, repair and/or retro-fit worn parts.
- Assist Service Manager and Service Advisors in dealing with customers.
- Explain automotive problems to customers when necessary.
- Maintain all training mandated by the dealership.
- Maintain own tools necessary to complete repairs.
- Abide by government regulations.
- Comply with Bowser safety policies and procedures.
- Other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Education and Qualifications
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Valid state inspection and emission license
- Valid CDL drivers' license in good standing
- Ability to multitask.
- Demonstrate good judgment
Physical Requirements
- Standing/walking/bending/stooping approximately 8 hours/day.
- Ability to lift no more than 70 lbs. at a time.
