Diesel Mechanic for Ready Mix Concrete Operation.

About the role

Kienstra - Ready Mix Concrete seeks a skilled technician for a day shift Monday through Friday position with opportunities for overtime. This position offers a competitive wage and benefits package, along with potential for advancement.

Responsibilities

• Routine, preventative, diagnostic, and repair maintenance on all Company equipment
• Work extensive overtime as needed due to weather and business conditions
• Perform a complete range and variety of major, minor, and routine repairs on heavy equipment or heavy vehicles
• Interact with peers, managers, internal customers (drivers), and vendors to explain problems and possible solutions
• Maintain detailed and accurate service records and documentation
• Diagnose and repair malfunctions using testing equipment and computerized systems
• Perform tire changes and maintenance
• Order parts as needed and maintain inventory control
• Perform preventive maintenance inspections and diagnostic tests
• Diagnose and repair mechanical issues related to brakes, cab, instruments, drive train, transmission, differentials, and other damaged parts
• Test drive trucks before and after repairs, as needed
• Repair and verify emissions control systems
• Perform technical certifications and hold a CDL if applicable

Requirements

• A valid driver's license from your state of residence with appropriate endorsements and a clean driving record
• Familiarity and strict adherence to all company policies that impact the job, including but not limited to: lockout/tagout, confined space, and hazard communication
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Conflict resolution skills
• Excellent time management skills
• Basic math and computer skills
• Strong knowledge of health and safety standards required for the role
• Welding & fabrication skills and experience required
• Must be able to work in severe weather conditions, both heat and cold
• Must be able to work in a manner to ensure personal and fellow employee safety by following Company safety guidelines and policies
