Diesel Mechanic
About the role
R+L Carriers is seeking a Diesel Mechanic at our Matteson, IL Service Center. The position involves daily maintenance and repairs on Class 8 trucks, trailers, and potentially forklifts.
Responsibilities
- Maintain preventative maintenance schedules for diesel engines
- Handle both minor and major repairs
- Perform trailer, overhead door, lift gate, dolly, and welding tasks as needed
Requirements
- Experience in preventive maintenance and repairs on diesel engines
- Able to perform major repairs
- Knowledge of AC and electrical systems
- Ability to lift 50 lbs
- Own tools required
- Preferred 2+ years of diesel mechanic experience
- Experience with Cummins and Detroit engines
- Class A CDL license preferred
- Experience driving Class 8 trucks
- Experience with trailer preventive maintenance and repairs
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license
- Must be able to pass a drug screen and background check

Earn up to $42.48 per hour
Schedule
Full-time, Monday - Friday, various shifts
