Diesel Mechanic Field Service Technician

About the role

The Diesel Field Service Technician will service Xylem's diesel pumps and related components at various customer sites and Xylem Service Centers in the Pompano Beach area. This position involves general day shift hours with potential for overtime and a compensated on-call rotation.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair diesel pumps and their electrical and mechanical components
• Provide phone support when necessary
• Receive equipment-specific training

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record (Class B CDL preferred)
• Pass a background check, drug screen, MVR check, and DOT physical
• Experience working with diesel systems or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
• Basic mechanical aptitude
• Ability to diagnose basic mechanical problems
• General DC electric and circuit testing skills
• Knowledge of and adherence to safety practices and procedures
• Ability to diagnose complex mechanical and electrical issues (preferred)
• Ability to work independently with little or no supervision; self-motivated and self-directed
• Effective communication skills (verbal and written)
