Primary Function

Works on heavy equipment maintenance and repair.

Position Summary

Experience in heavy equipment maintenance and repair. Strong knowledge of hydraulic systems, air brake systems, and is comfortable maintaining accurate service records. This role requires a dependable, detail-oriented professional who can work independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain a wide range of vehicles and heavy equipment.
  • Perform work on hydraulic systems and air brake systems.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance and inspections.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues efficiently.
  • Maintain accurate service and repair records.
  • Ensure all work meets safety and compliance standards.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members.

Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or equivalent required.
  • A-Level mechanic certification or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience with heavy equipment (construction, fleet, or similar).
  • Strong knowledge of hydraulics and air brake systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
  • Good record-keeping and organizational skills.
  • Valid driver's license (CDL preferred, if applicable).
  • Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in a physically demanding environment.

Preferred Skills

  • Welding or fabrication experience.
  • CDL certification.
  • Experience with diesel engines.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to perform physical activities such as, but not limited to, lifting materials and equipment, standing, climbing, walking, or using hands to operate/handle tools.
