Diesel Mechanic

About the role

R+L Carriers is seeking a Diesel Mechanic at their Wheeling, IL Service Center. The position involves daily maintenance and repairs on Class 8 trucks, trailers, and potentially forklifts.

Responsibilities

• Maintain trailers, overhead doors, lift gates, dollies, and perform welding as needed.
• Handle both preventative maintenance and major repairs on diesel engines.
• Work with AC and electrical systems as required.
• Lift up to 50 lbs as part of the job.
• Use Cetaris for work order management.
• Hold a Class A CDL license.
• Drive Class 8 commercial trucks.
• Perform trailer preventive maintenance and repairs.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience as a Diesel Mechanic.
• Experience with Cummins and Detroit engines.
• Class A CDL license preferred.
• Experience driving Class 8 commercial trucks.
• Experience with trailer preventive maintenance and repairs.

Qualifications

• Must be able to handle lifting 50 lbs.
• Must have your own tools.

Pay

The hourly rate ranges from $23.63 to $37.48.

Schedule

Full-time, Monday - Friday, various shifts.
