Diesel Mechanic

About the role

R+L Carriers is seeking a Diesel Mechanic at their Rock Hill, SC Service Center. The primary responsibilities include day-to-day equipment maintenance on the company's fleet, which consists of preventative maintenance and minor to major repairs on Class 8 trucks, trailers, and potentially forklifts. This position may involve tasks such as trailer maintenance, overhead door repair, lift gate maintenance, dolly operation, and welding.

Responsibilities

• Day-to-day equipment maintenance on the company's fleet
• Preventative maintenance and minor to major repairs on Class 8 trucks, trailers, and forklifts
• Maintain trailers, overhead doors, lift gates, dollies, and welding as needed
• Handle major repairs and perform preventive maintenance on diesel engines
• Use Cetaris for work orders
• Drive Class 8 commercial trucks
• Perform Trailer Preventive Maintenance and repairs

Requirements

• Experience in preventive maintenance and repairs on diesel engines
• Able to handle major repairs
• Experience with AC and Electrical systems
• Able to lift 50 lbs
• Own tools
• Two years of diesel mechanic experience preferred
• Experience in preventive maintenance of Cummins & Detroit engines
• Experience using Cetaris for work orders
• Class A CDL license
• Experience driving Class 8 commercial trucks
• Experience in Trailer PMs and repairs

Qualifications

Must be able to handle major repairs, have experience with AC and Electrical systems, and be able to lift 50 lbs. A Class A CDL license is required. Two years of diesel mechanic experience is preferred, along with experience in preventive maintenance of Cummins & Detroit engines and using Cetaris for work orders. Experience in Trailer PMs and repairs is also preferred.
