Diesel Mechanic
R+L Carriers has an immediate opportunity for a Diesel Mechanic at our Baltimore, MD Service Center.
About the role
As a Diesel Mechanic, you will perform day-to-day equipment maintenance on our fleet, including preventative maintenance and minor to major repairs on Class 8 trucks, trailers, and potentially forklifts. Tasks may also include maintaining trailers, overhead doors, lift gates, dollies, and welding depending on location.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on diesel engines
- Handle major repairs on Class 8 trucks and trailers
- Maintain and repair AC and electrical systems
- Conduct Trailer PMs (preventive maintenance) and repairs
- Use Cetaris for work orders
- Drive Class 8 commercial trucks (if holding a Class A CDL)
Requirements
- Must have own tools
- Ability to lift 50 lbs
- 2+ years of Diesel Mechanic experience preferred
- Experience in preventive maintenance of Cummins & Detroit engines
- Experience using Cetaris for work orders
- Class A CDL holder (preferred)
- Experience driving Class 8 commercial trucks (preferred)
Pay
$30.74 - $36.93 per hour
Schedule
Full-Time, Monday - Friday, 3rd shift (12:00 AM to 10:30 AM)
