Diesel Mechanic
Hourly range: $18.73 - $34.25
About the role
R+L Carriers has an immediate opportunity for Diesel Mechanics at our South Windsor, CT Service Center. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for day-to-day equipment maintenance on our fleet equipment consisting of preventative maintenance and minor to major repairs to Class 8 trucks, trailers, and potentially forklifts. This can include maintaining trailers, overhead doors, lift gates, dollies, and welding depending on location.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on diesel engines
- Handle major repairs on Class 8 trucks and trailers
- Maintain AC and electrical systems
- Work with overhead doors, lift gates, dollies, and welding equipment
- Use Cetaris for work orders
- Perform trailer preventive maintenance (PMs) and repairs
Requirements
- Must have experience in preventive maintenance and repairs on diesel engines
- Must be able to handle major repairs
- Experience with AC and electrical systems
- Ability to lift 50 lbs
- Must have own tools
Qualifications
- 2+ years of Diesel Mechanic experience preferred
- Experience in preventive maintenance of Cummins & Detroit engines
- Class A CDL holder preferred
- Experience driving Class 8 commercial trucks
