Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair gas and diesel-powered engines, ensuring optimal performance.
- Utilize electrical and hydraulic schematics with test equipment to diagnose and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions.
- Maintain company equipment to ensure functionality and safety.
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance to prevent mechanical failures and extend equipment lifespan.
- Uphold safety protocols and contribute to maintaining a safe work environment.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs and maintenance work performed.
- Perform repairs, recondition equipment components, and maintain the functionality of equipment.
- Complete and prepare electronic work orders for maintenance and repairs, ensuring accurate documentation.
- Ensure all company equipment is maintained in a clean, orderly, and operational condition.
- Perform scheduled Preventative Maintenance Inspections (PMIs) to prevent breakdowns and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Read and understand manufacturer-provided literature and technical documents for maintenance and repair guidance.
- Effectively communicate equipment conditions, issues, and recommendations to management and team members.
- Maintain company equipment in a clean, orderly, and operational condition to ensure functionality and safety.
- Recondition equipment components and perform necessary repairs to maintain operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with the operations team to ensure the smooth operation of daily activities and minimize downtime.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols, contributing to the maintenance of a safe work environment for all team members.
- Uphold and adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety standards while maintaining equipment.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of relevant experience or training in diesel mechanic roles.
- Certified in air brake adjustment.
- Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license and any necessary FAA/Airport required identification or authorizations.
- A detail-oriented and professional approach to tasks and responsibilities.
- Capable of lifting, pulling, and pushing heavy items weighing 75 pounds or more, as well as standing, bending, climbing, and walking.
- Must be able to safely work in environments containing chemicals, cleaning materials, dust, and noise.
- Knowledge of airport Ground Service Equipment (GSE) and airport operations is a plus but not required.
- Routine work in a mechanical shop environment, with frequent exposure to outdoor conditions and inclement weather.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team to address equipment issues quickly and efficiently.
- Ability to work various shifts, including weekends, as needed.
- Be prepared to work in varying and inclement weather conditions.
