Diesel Mechanic - 2nd shift

E.L. Harvey & Sons, a Waste Connections company, has an immediate opening for a Diesel Mechanic in Tyngsborough, MA.

About the role

Schedule

Monday - Friday with a 3pm start time, 50 to 55 hours per week, plus Saturdays as needed.

Pay

$30.00 to $35.00 per hour (DOE), with earning potential of $90,000+ annually including overtime and bonus opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs, inspections, and safety checks on diesel vehicles.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems.
• Utilize vehicle computer electrical systems to interpret failure modes and adjust Engine and Vehicle Control modules.
• Respond to road calls for emergency repairs.
• Review, complete, or assign repairs identified on driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.
• Complete required paperwork using fleet maintenance software programs.
• Test drive trucks after services and repairs.
• Assist other team members with repairs as needed.
• Maintain professional and courteous interactions with drivers.
• Keep a clean, safe work area in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards.
• Perform other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of proven experience as an automotive or diesel mechanic.
• Proficiency in diesel vehicle diagnostic tools, preventative maintenance, and repair.
• Basic tool set.
• Hydraulic experience is a plus.
