Diesel Mechanic - 2nd Shift

E.L. Harvey & Sons has an immediate opening for a Diesel Mechanic to join our growing team in Leominster, MA.

Schedule

• Monday - Friday, 3:00 PM start time
• 50 to 55 hours per week
• Saturdays as needed

Pay

• $28.00 to $35.00 per hour (DOE)
• Earning potential of $90,000+ annually with available overtime and bonus opportunities
• Overtime eligible
• Boot and tool allowance

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs and inspections, safety checks, diagnosis, and repair of electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems on diesel vehicles
• Utilize vehicle computer electrical systems to interpret failure modes, identify, and adjust Engine and Vehicle Control modules
• Respond to road calls for emergency repairs
• Review, complete, or assign repairs identified on driver Vehicle Inspection Reports
• Complete required paperwork utilizing fleet maintenance software programs
• Test drive trucks after services and repairs
• Assist other team members with repairs as needed
• Maintain professional and courteous interactions with drivers
• Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards
• Perform other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of proven experience as an automotive or diesel mechanic
• Proficiency in a variety of diesel vehicle diagnostic tools, preventative maintenance, and repair
• Basic tool set
• Hydraulic experience is a plus
