About the role

Johns Disposal Service, Inc. is seeking a skilled professional to join our Automotive/Mechanics team in Whitewater, WI.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on diesel and gasoline-powered vehicles and equipment
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using diagnostic tools and equipment
  • Inspect vehicles for safety and performance compliance
  • Complete work orders and maintain accurate service records
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of repairs

Requirements

  • Proven experience as an automotive or diesel mechanic
  • Knowledge of vehicle diagnostic systems and repair techniques
  • Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Formal training or certification in automotive/diesel technology preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of hands-on mechanic experience
  • Familiarity with waste management or commercial fleet vehicles is a plus

Pay

Competitive hourly wage based on experience and certifications.

Schedule

Full-time position with day shift hours, Monday through Friday. Occasional overtime may be required.
