Die Prep Technician 1

Job Summary

Reporting to the Linamar Production Supervisor & Team Leader, a Die Prep Technician assists in keeping the Die Prep area in working order. The role involves recommending measures to improve die prep processes, equipment performance, and overall production quality. Duties include preparing date screws, prep fill tubes, filling tube carts, checking coat containers, cleaning coating spray cans, cleaning and maintaining the die prep area, ensuring ice blast machines are operational, observing and practicing lockout/tagout requirements, monitoring and adjusting equipment for maximum efficiency, and tracking productivity.

Responsibilities

• Recommends measures to improve die prep processes, equipment performance, and overall production quality.
• Prepares date screws, prep fill tubes, fills the tube carts, fills, checks the coat containers, cleans coating spray cans.
• Cleans and keeps the die prep area in order.
• Ensures ice blast machines are in working order.
• Understands responsibility for personal and others' safety, observes and practices lockout/tagout requirements.
• Maintains equipment for maximum efficiency, within operating parameters, safely and correctly.
• Tracks and documents productivity information accurately, as directed.
• Operates a casting machine or assists in die preps as needed.

Requirements

• High school Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience working in die prep or casting preferred.
• Able to read and understand work instructions.
• Able to complete required paperwork and report out information utilizing Plex or another required format.
• Team-oriented.
• Effective communicator at all levels.
• Problem solver and troubleshooter.
• Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide).
• Basic mechanical aptitude.
