Responsibilities

  • Operates Die Cutter Machine to develop end-result printed material in accordance with customer specifications.
  • Operate Die Cutter machine, troubleshoot and monitor operation.
  • Prepares Die Cutter by performing a variety of tasks to produce a consistent, high quality product by adjusting the die and register for pressure and cutting.
  • Performs a variety of make ready tasks for high productivity and precision operations, resolves defects and adjustments to produce high quality product.
  • Oversees General technicians working on equipment.
  • Makes adjustments, clears jams, while processing product, maintaining speed and quality.
  • Ensures efficient and rapid make ready, with unloading and loading.
  • Quality: Ensures quality of jobs completed by reviewing for quality and accuracy. Makes sure jobs are complete and error free. Ensures finished product exceeds customer expectations. Ensures all checklists are completed. Supports and communicates all ISO standards and quality objectives. Complies with cGMP, HACCP Food Safety Requirements and Chain of Custody Program Requirements.
  • Safety: Ensures complete adherence and compliance to the OHSE policies. Assists team members in maintaining clean and safe environment. Maintains and follows all company policies and procedures for safety, personal protection and hazard materials/waste handling according to established guidelines. Uses Company provided safety lifting equipment, i.e., hoist, jacks, vacuum manipulators, etc. Properly stores and arranges work area to maintain cleanliness and safe environment following all safety rules and regulations for grounding, storage, spill clean-up, etc.
  • Communications: Interacts with the team and co-workers in a way that promotes respect, encourages cooperation and contributes to excellent performance. Communicates accurate information to all team members in a professional and courteous manner that conveys a willingness to assist. Accepts direction and feedback from supervisor and follows through appropriately.
  • Leadership: Creates and maintains a high performance environment characterized by positive leadership and strong team orientation. Develops the team and encourages each member to do what needs to be done, correctly and efficiently. Gets it right the first time. Communicates regularly with team toward goals and required results, providing specific feedback and initiating corrective action when goals or results are not met. Motivates crew to improve quantity and quality of work performed and provides training as required. Consistently uses appropriate established channels of communication. Conducts team meetings when necessary.

Requirements

  • High School diploma (or GED).
  • Minimum of 3 years of Die Cutting experience. Bobst 104 and/or Bobst 106, preferred.
  • Must have interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Must possess basic computer skills and mathematical skills necessary to compute percentages, weights and measures.
  • Must be able to perform any and all work or additional tasks as required or requested by Department Leads, Shift Leads, or Management.

Physical Demands

  • This position requires prolonged periods of standing, stooping, bending and/or reaching, balancing, kneeling, crouching, reaching with hands and arms, hearing and speaking.
  • Frequent lifting in excess of 60 lbs is required.
  • Must be able to hold, touch, feel and manipulate with hands product and equipment in a safe manner.
  • Use of close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus as well as good eye-hand coordination.
  • Must be able to rotate shifts and be available to work in excess of 8 hours per day and/or 40 hours per week when necessary to meet customer product needs.
