Key Accountabilities

  • Global Health and Development Program
    • Manages student-oriented programs in coordination with GHAD leadership.
    • Affords assistance in content creation and community engagement through speakers and service projects.
    • Affords assistance in creating the communications schedule, drafting email letters and notices to faculty and staff.
    • Tracks fundraising and participation metrics, provides analysis on progress of program in comparison to previous years.
  • Faculty-Directed Special Initiative in Global Health
    • Collaborates with senior leaders on the year-long research and analysis process in support of the special initiative.
    • Serves as a support to the Dickey-affiliated faculty member (in coordination with GHAD leadership) to conduct research on the topic of the special initiative.
    • Supports outreach to academic and policy community in coordination with project director.
    • Works on organizing and supporting meetings and workshops; participates in meetings and draft letters, emails and minutes targeted to audiences in advance and follow up.
    • Makes contact with faculty, students, practitioners, and alumni; prepares documents for the Dickey Center in presenting the work.
    • Organizes recruitment of speakers for Dickey, plans student information session, prepares ads and posters, as well as writes emails to raise awareness of program.
    • Acts as a primary point of contact for inquiries from students and alumni.
  • Dickey Center – Director’s Special Projects
    • Works with Director to support special projects, including research projects, the development of speaker series that highlight Great Issues, and campus-based efforts to address key multidisciplinary challenges.

Qualifications

  • Education and Years of Experience: Bachelor's degree
  • Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Recent Dartmouth graduate. Deep experience in the Dartmouth community. Demonstrated interest in international affairs and global issues. Commitment to personal and departmental integrity, creativity, collaboration, and professionalism. Full working knowledge of Microsoft Suite. Occasional weekend and evening hours will be required to attend special events and programs (some travel may be required as well). Commitment to diversity and to serving the needs of a diverse community. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills. Strong organizational skills and an ability to plan and prioritize work. Ability to work independently and as a team member. Demonstrated writing/research skills. Demonstrated analytical skills. Strong project management skills. Commitment to diversity and to serving the needs of a diverse community.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, database management and visual representation of data (charts, graphs, etc.) and web development platforms. Experience coordinating on-campus events or working with academic and student support staff.
