Dialysis Technician, Certified: FT Days
About the role
Provides the direct, patient care for assigned patients under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse. Documents patient treatment information accurately and in the appropriate patient record. Assists licensed nurse with pre- and post-dialysis patient assessments and their documentation. Monitors and documents dialysis treatment parameters in patient’s medical record. Reports any significant information or change in patient condition to the supervisor. Assists with all emergency operational procedures. Initiates basic CPR measures in the event of cardiac and/or pulmonary arrest and responds to emergency situations related to dialysis treatment. Responsible for accurate documentation of information related to the water system. Responsible for making sure lab tubes are properly processed and packed for delivery to outside laboratory. Assists with patient education and documents accordingly. Performs routine procedures, vital signs, and other appropriate tasks as delegated by ONA standards and RN. Communicates patient information to the Assistant Director. Documents basic care in patient’s medical record. Accurately and completely documents data pertinent to water treatment.

- Assists with emergency operational procedures.
- Initiates basic CPR measures and responds to emergencies during dialysis treatment.
- Ensures accurate documentation of water system information.
- Verifies proper processing and packing of lab tubes for delivery to outside laboratories.
- Supports patient education efforts and documents accordingly.
- Performs routine procedures, vital signs, and other tasks as directed by ONA standards and RN.
- Communicates patient information to the Assistant Director.
- Documents basic care and relevant water treatment data in the patient’s medical record.
Requirements
- High school graduate.
- Previous hospital experience preferred.
- Successfully completes state-approved training program and certification exam.
- Possesses a current license as an Ohio Certified Dialysis Technician.
- Currently certified in CPR and recertified bi-annually.
