About the role
DaVita is looking for a Dialysis Tech (PCT) to serve our patients at our Center Ridge Dialysis Center in North Ridgeville, OH. Paid training provided.
Schedule
- Mon–Sat 5:00 am – 6:00 pm (alternating schedule)
- Shifts can begin as early as 3:00 am and may vary based on patient needs
- PCTs are expected for 3–4 days/week with a minimum of two Saturdays per month
- Hours may vary during training; typically 32–40 hours/week during training
- Must be able to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
Paid training
- Robust, paid training program (classroom + hands-on)
- Reimbursement for Certified Hemodialysis Technician (CHT) license
- Training may occur in a facility or dedicated training clinic with a cohort of new teammates
Requirements
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Comfortable working around blood and needles
- Comfortable mixing acid or bicarb solutions
- Physical and mental ability to work long hours (some shifts 12+ hours) on your feet
- Willingness to train and work across multiple clinics within the territory as needed
- Health care experience preferred (BONENT Certified, CHT, CNA, CMA, or Phlebotomy certification)
Responsibilities
- Direct patient care: one-on-one patient interactions to provide safe, comfortable, and hygienic dialysis treatment; caring for up to 4–5 patients at a time
- Technician duties:
- Morning opening tasks: prepare water room, bicarb, test water for chlorine, verify calibrated tools
- Monitor patients before, during, and after treatment; measure and record vitals and observations
- Hemodialysis machine setup
- Educate patients on kidney-dialysis-related topics
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives
- Work under RN supervision within a cross-functional clinical team
Physical requirements
- Ability to lift 5–50 pounds unassisted
- Perform repetitive standing, sitting, stooping, walking, stretching, reaching, and full range-of-motion movements
- Clear in-person and phone communication
- Use computers and peripherals as needed
