Dialysis Staff Nurse (FT Nights)

Barnes-Jewish Hospital South Campus on 14300 RENAL Inpatient Acute Dialysis 13-Beds
Considering applicants with a minimum of two-years hospital-based bedside RN work experience
- Straight Nights (7Pm-7Am)
- Weekend requirement works every third Saturday (12-hour shift)
- On-Call every sixth Sunday for 12 hours
- PTO accrual begins day-one
- Eligible for Tuition Assistance for continuing education
- May be eligible for sign-on bonus
Department Hours of Operation
Department hours of operation are Monday through Saturday, 24 hours per day.
On Sundays the department RNs rotate on-call obligations.
Role Purpose
Provides direct patient care activities including assessment, diagnosis, planning implementation, and evaluation within the guidelines of the standards of nursing care.
Responsibilities
Promotes patient and family centered care in a healing environment.
Educates patients and their families on how to manage their illness or injury, including post treatment home care needs and medication administration.
Participates in activities that promote patient safety, quality and regulatory compliance.
Participates in professional development.
Develops, implements, and documents individual plans of care with defined goals in collaboration with other members of the interprofessional team and patient, family or caregiver in accordance with the established guidelines and standards of nursing care.
Proactively plans and ensures communication of the plan of care across the continuum of care.
Uses critical nursing skills to assess and evaluate physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs according to standards of care.
Affirms patient preferences and barriers to involvement in care, including their values, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and population-specific needs.
Minimum Requirements
- Nursing Diploma/Associate's Nursing
- No Experience Supervisor Experience
- RN Preferred

Department
The Acute Dialysis Unit at Barnes-Jewish Hospital provides the latest treatments and technologies in renal replacement therapy to help patients with renal failure.
The acute dialysis department has 12 dialysis bays to dialyze patients in the unit, and portable dialysis machines that enable dialysis RNs to travel throughout the hospital and provide dialysis therapy at patients' bedside, if needed.
The types of renal replacement therapy we provide are: hemodialysis, CVVHDF, CVVHD, SCUF, SSED, TPE, CCPD, and CAPD.
