About the role
The Dialysis Registered Nurse (RN) provides specialized care to patients with end-stage renal disease (ESRD), acute kidney injury (AKI), and late-stage chronic kidney disease (CKD) in both inpatient and outpatient settings. The dialysis unit supports a capacity of 4 beds and 14 chairs per shift, delivering hemodialysis for scheduled patients, while emergent dialysis is performed in acute care areas, including the Critical Care and Emergency Department. After-hours dialysis is supported by an on-call nurse.
Primary Responsibilities
- Provides comprehensive nursing care to patients with end-stage renal disease who are being maintained by intermittent hemodialysis and/or peritoneal dialysis in either a chronic unit setting or a critical care/acute care unit setting.
- Collaborates with other disciplines/departments to achieve desired patient outcomes.
- Serves as the primary nurse for ESRD patient panels and assists patients in navigating the healthcare system.
- Completes documentation for all clinical and technical recordkeeping in the electronic health record and treatment flowsheets in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Maintains ongoing care continuity needs and outcomes for the interdisciplinary team.
- Assists in directing the provision of nursing education, orientation, competencies, and quality improvement and outcomes utilization.
- Partners with the patient, family, and interdisciplinary team to promote effective and safe transitions across the healthcare continuum.

Requirements
- Staff shall have BLS and ACLS certifications and at least three (3) years of nursing experience providing hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis.
- The personnel assigned by the Contractor to perform the services covered by this task order shall possess an unrestricted license to practice medicine in one of the States, Territories, or Commonwealths of the United States or the District of Columbia.
