Dialysis Registered Nurse
About the role
The Dialysis Nurse (RN) position at DaVita in Logan, Ohio provides care to patients with end-stage renal failure or chronic kidney disease. The clinic operates Monday through Friday from 5:00 AM to 7:30 PM and has 12 chairs, Braun dialysis machines, and a team of 1 RN and 2-3 PCTs per shift.
Responsibilities
- Supervises and performs direct patient care including vital signs, initiation and termination of dialysis, documentation, physical assessment, and patient treatments.
- Provides dialysis therapy, formulating plans, verifying safety measures, administering medications, discontinuing dialysis, and documenting activities.
- Analyzes patient assessments, laboratory data, and reports concerning trauma, physical and mental conditions, reviews dialysis orders, and documents observations.
- Assesses patient and family learning readiness, providing information on renal disease, prescribed dialysis treatment, and medical regimen.
- Participates in developing and implementing patient’s short- and long-term care plans and monthly progress notes.
Requirements
- Associates Degree in Nursing (A.D.N) from an accredited school of nursing required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.S.N) or three-year diploma from an accredited diploma program may substitute for nursing degree.
- At least 1 year of experience working as a licensed nurse in a clinical setting.
- Experience in ICU, CCU, ER, or Med Surg is helpful but not required.
- Certified Nephrology Nurse (CNN) or Certified Dialysis Nurse (CDN) certification is preferred.

Pay and Schedule
Compensation increases based on completion of training and assumed responsibilities. The schedule is currently Monday through Friday from 5:00 AM to 7:30 PM.
