Dialysis PD AA/Dialysis Tech
About the role
This position combines two roles: a Clinical Administrative Assistant (AA) and an Experienced Dialysis Tech. The AA aspect will be trained if you have experience as a dialysis technician. The expected schedule alternates between PCT (Peritoneal Dialysis Technician) hours of 5:30am - 8:30pm and AA hours of 8:00am - 5:30pm. The role requires flexibility and availability to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Responsibilities
- Screen all people entering the clinic for COVID (questions and temperature check, providing masks)
- Process admission requests and follow up with hospitals to ensure all required documents are in place
- Admit and discharge patients in the computer system
- Document appointments and follow up with offices to receive appointment notes
- Order office supplies
- Filing, good organizational skills, and quick learning of DaVita specific systems
- Prioritize tasks throughout the day/week, even when unexpected things happen
- Clear and prompt communication with team, practitioners, and outside partners
- Complete tasks in a timely manner
Requirements
- Must be an experienced and certified Dialysis Technician
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Comfortable working around blood and needles
- Comfortable mixing acid or bicarb
- Flexible and available to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Physical and mental ability to work long hours (some shifts are 12+ hours) on your feet
- BONENT Certified, Certified Hemodialysis Technician (CHT)
Qualifications
Screening for COVID, processing admission requests, and maintaining patient records are essential responsibilities. Flexibility and availability to work various shifts are required. Physical and mental stamina are necessary due to long hours and standing.
Skills
Effective communication, organization, and multitasking skills are crucial. Comfort with medical procedures and a willingness to learn new systems are also important.
