Responsibilities
- Work directly with patients to provide safe, comfortable, and high-quality dialysis treatment.
- Gather patient vital signs before and after treatment.
- Initiate and monitor dialysis treatments.
- Terminate treatments and collect patient blood samples as directed by physicians.
- Ensure quality and safety by preparing and cleaning machines, conducting safety checks, and adhering to protocols and regulations.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and care planning activities.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Desire to work in healthcare and care for patients.
- Previous healthcare experience in dialysis, phlebotomy, or as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is preferred.
- Ability to safely mix and prepare chemical solutions following strict safety protocols.
- Ability to distinguish all primary colors.
- Successful completion of U.S. Renal Care's training program, including demonstration of competency in hemodialysis within 8 weeks of hire.
- CPR certification required within 90 days of hire or as required by the state.
- Patient Care Technician certification must be obtained through a state certification program or national commercially available program within 18 months of hire and maintained in good standing.
Requirements
- Successfully complete U.S. Renal Care's training program approved by the Medical Director.
- Pass CPR certification within 90 days of hire.
- Obtain Patient Care Technician certification within 18 months of hire.
