As a Patient Care Technician (PCT) at US Renal Care, you will be an integral part of a cross-functional team providing care and delegated activities of treatment to patients with renal failure, working under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Charge Nurse (CN).
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, comfortable, and high-quality dialysis treatment to patients.
- Gather patient stats before and after treatment.
- Initiate, monitor, and terminate dialysis treatments.
- Collect patient blood samples per physician orders.
- Prepare, clean, and disinfect hemodialysis machines.
- Conduct machine safety checks and log results for quality control.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and state/federal regulations.
- Use appropriate safety measures, including personal protective equipment.
- Participate in required staff meetings and continuing education offerings.
- Mix acids and bicarbonate according to protocol.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Desire to work in healthcare and care for patients.
- Previous healthcare experience in dialysis, phlebotomy, or as a CNA is a plus.
- Ability to distinguish all primary colors.
- Successful completion of USRC training program approved by the Medical Director, including demonstrated competency in hemodialysis theory and practice within 8 weeks of hire.
- CPR certification required within 90 days of hire or as required by the state.
- Patient Care Technician certification must be obtained through a state or national program within 18 months of hire and maintained thereafter; specific state requirements may apply.
Pay
USD $19.04 - USD $30.41 per hour.
